Zefr Brand Platform
We first worked with Zefr (alongside creative agency Bruiser) on a billboard for Cannes Lions 2025. As our relationship grew, so too did the scope for an even more interesting brief. New brand marketing leadership had arrived with an appetite to move the company's story into a more emotional space, with an organizing idea that could galvanize audiences both inside and outside the company. To find it, we started with the reality facing modern marketing leaders.
Culture lives in chaos. Social platforms are where audiences actually are, and they are also flooded with billions of uploads a day, trends that turn over by the hour, and rules that change without warning. We heard the cost of that everywhere we went. Brand and media leaders were quietly curtailing their own ambition – anything to avoid putting a foot wrong. The risk of a misstep just felt too big. The people whose job it is to be bold were spending their days braced for impact.
Fear was the category norm, and it set up a tidy logic for buying something tangible: the blocklist. Decide in advance what to avoid, set it, forget it, check the box. But a list built to exclude keeps excluding, and every audience and cultural moment it rules out is one a braver competitor picks up. Safety had become the ceiling rather than the floor.
Zefr's real value was never the blocking: it is orientation. The platform reads what content actually contains, then translates that into what it means for one specific brand, its standards and its goals, rather than sorting the world into generic categories. Advertisers get both protection and permission. And a brand that can orient faster than its competitors stops reacting and starts moving: capturing cultural moments before they are commoditized, reaching audiences before anyone else saturates them.
So we pushed past the functional to the emotional benefit sitting on top of it. Zefr helps marketers move confidently through the chaos.
The brand idea:
Be Fearless in the Feed
Then we put the idea on the industry's biggest stage for Cannes 2026. Zefr took out a hero billboard on the Croisette during the one week of the year when the business gathers to celebrate creative bravery.
The idea leads, and the technology backs it up. Behind the type sits Zefr's own machine language, the embeddings and classifier tags the platform generates as it reads content, here reading Cannes itself: rosé at eleven in the morning, a Lion replica in the overhead bin, a standing ovation for a print ad.
